Dear comrades,

10 October is a great date for all of us.

From Spain, we know of the great achievements of the great Workers' Party of Korea. We were not fortunate enough to be part of its founding or to live side by side with those years of creation, the struggle against the invader, organising the popular masses and the creation of the socialist homeland of Korea.

It is a party that knew how to stay on the right ideological path, fighting against all deviations, both right-wing and left-wing, and that managed to survive the wave of revisionist betrayal at any cost. Even if Korea were to remain alone in the world, holding high the banner of socialism, it would still be on the right path. This is something that other countries, even friendly countries, find difficult to understand.

The enemies do not understand ideological unity or why it is necessary to remain faithful to Marxism-Leninism alongside the work of the Paektu lineage.

The Eternal President KIM IL SUNG always gave priority to ideological work, which has been carried out together with the Party at all levels, and this is a key reason why it is now the vanguard party in the world.

The continuation of this work alongside Generalissimo KIM JONG IL was also key during the most distressing moments in the history of socialism, when half the world was changing to become revisionist countries that sought to sabotage the Korean revolution both from outside and from within.

The unity between the people and the party is the key to a socialist system functioning. While the Korean Labour Party is in constant contact with the masses, learning from them and educating them, the masses march in unison like a flock of eagles flying in formation.

The construction of socialism in the northern part of the peninsula has been possible thanks to the Party. From scratch, the homeland has been rebuilt and has become the envy of the whole world. healthcare, education, full employment and social care are all aspects of human life that are developed in the service of the working people of Korea like nowhere else in the world.

With the wise guidance of the great Marshal KIM JONG UN, who continues the Songun policy that guarantees national sovereignty, it is a shield that ensures that the Party, the people and the army are one, and any attempt at division or factionalism is cleanly cut off.

The Party commands the rifle and the masses are armed; the working people carry the socialist ideology and cherish it together with their Party and their military. Without the Party, this union would not have been possible; it is the backbone of the socialist system. In Europe, we know bitterly what happens when a party ceases to be a vanguard and retreats, allowing anti-socialist elements to dominate the Party and the State.

That is why, from so far away, we feel the great work of the Korean Workers' Party, we know how to value it, and its example gives us hope for the socialist future.

The Party faces a new reality in terms of territorial unity, which is a more realistic approach given the hostile situation. American imperialism is weak, but it is a beast that needs to be subdued and confronted, otherwise, as in the past, it will try to subjugate free peoples by any means necessary. The Worker's Party of Korea is an internationalist bastion that helps other peoples in this struggle. For this reason, the letters of the party are written with the blood of the martyrs who have fallen in foreign missions. Let us honour them all by remembering the greatness of this party and this country, as well as its people and the lineage of Paektu.
